About kari

  (she/her/hers)

I grew up in the California Bay Area and went to University in Santa Cruz, CA where I studied Art and Literature. In 2007, shortly after graduating, I moved to Portland, OR in search of creative community and new adventures. After suffering a traumatic loss, I understood the importance of healing and felt called to support others and so set about my path to become a therapist.

After graduating from Lewis & Clark College of Education and Counseling in 2014 I worked in Community Mental health and eventually started my own private practice in 2016. I genuinely enjoy my job and honor the opportunity to support my clients as they navigate their lives.

Outside of therapy I spend the lion’s share of my time with my partner and our two senior rescue dogs, Hazelnut and Oats, who you will most likely either see or hear during our online appointments.

When not dutifully rubbing dog bellies and facilitating neighborhood walks, you can find me gardening, honing my pottery skills, appreciating rivers & the Oregon coast, mushroom hunting, making a big pot of soup to eat with nice, crusty bread, or watching too much reality TV.
